BABY STORYTIME ENCORE
with Sara Waters

Everywhere Babies says it best: "Every day, everywhere, babies are born. They're kissed and dressed and rocked and fed - and completely adored by the families who love them." We would add: "And they are brought to baby storytime at The Red Balloon Bookshop." We are pleased to announce two new Red Balloon babies: Finn Beckett, son of Red Balloon bookseller Maureen Sackmaster-Carpenter, and Giovanna Marie, daughter of Red Balloon storyteller Sara Waters. Congratulations! Come to baby storytime and enjoy!

August 7, Saturday, 2:00 p.m.
BACK ON THE MISSISSIPPI
with TV/DVD Producers Chuck Strinz and Paul Markland

Chuck Strinz and Paul Markland will present their DVD Back on the Mississippi, Hidden Trails, Offbeat Tales, based on their PBS program of the same name. They will talk about the experience of travelling the Upper Mississippi River to film and gather facts for the production. Find out about little-known Mississippi River stories such as the Minnesota birth of water skiing, how Wisconsin became known as the "Badger State," and how river pollution sparked the Black Hawk Indian Wars over 150 years ago, as well as many more true facts and tales. Chuck and Paul are enthusiastic presenters. So, expect an exciting event!

August 14, Saturday, 10:30 a.m.
YOKO and her COMO ZOO FRIENDS

Our favorite Japanese kitten, Yoko, from the beloved Rosemary Wells books Yoko and Yoko's Paper Cranes, will be visiting The Red Balloon. She had hoped to bring cranes like the ones her grandmother had fed in the pond at the end of the garden, but they needed to stay in Japan. In their place Yoko will bring some wonderful frogs from Como Zoo. Come and discover the importance of frogs in our world. Yoko will have a frog treat for us.

August 18, Wednesday, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

TODDLER STORYTIME ENCORE
with Kim Faurot

Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! The dinosaurs are coming! But Never Fear! Kim Faurot is bringing them. This Toddler Storytime will feature Paul Stickland's Dinosaur Roar! and Dinosaur Stomp! and Jane Yolen's How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? Kim's a great dinosaur tamer and an even better storyteller, but as always she needs some pre-school friends to help her. Kim will bring the stories, some puppets, plus her good friend Honker. You need to bring your energy, excitement, and a parent or two.
